About Don Giovanni

Don Giovanni is the story of a fascinating, powerful, and evil man who, after a lifetime of destruction, is finally himself destroyed. Underneath a bright, beautiful veneer of edgily cheerful music is a dark story of a man manipulating, raping, and murdering his way through a single day. We follow several of his victims and watch how the aftermath of his crimes continues to haunt them in different ways. Tormented by guilt and shame, they try to process their experiences and find themselves stuck in hellish circles of misunderstanding and recrimination.

This production of Don Giovanni gives audience members the chance to trail after Don Giovanni’s destructive wake, chasing him and pacing through cycles of grief with his victims. You will be given a costume and invited to explore whichever characters and songs you find enticing. But be careful; to watch is to become involved. And involving oneself with Don Giovanni is never a good idea…
